Pricing Estimates
Pricing is based on condition, materials, and labor required. All work is quoted individually after evaluation.
Minor Structural Repairs - $85-150
Small-scale repairs intended to stabilize a book without major disassembly. This may include tightening loose hinges, reattaching a small number of detached pages, reinforcing weak joints, or minor spine consolidation. Appropriate for books that are largely intact but beginning to show wear.
Spine Repair/ Rebacking - $175-350
Repair or replacement of a damaged spine while retaining the original boards whenever possible. This work may involve lifting original covering material, rebuilding the spine structure, and reattaching boards. Appropriate for books with detached or failing spines but sound text blocks.
Full Repair & Stabilization - $300-600
Comprehensive structural work addressing multiple issues such as broken joints, paper damage, failed prior repairs. These projects often require partial disbanding, and careful reconstruction to ensure long-term stability while preserving original elements.
Cloth Rebinding - $275-500
Complete rebinding of a text block in archival book cloth. Includes new boards, spine, endpapers. Suitable for books whose original bindings are beyond repair or for clients seeking durability.
Leather Rebinding - $600-1,200+
Traditional full or half leather rebinding using high- quality leather. These projects may include hand tooling, and custom finishing. Recommended for valuable, heirloom, or collector-level volumes.
Protective Enclosures - $175-900
Custom slipcases and clamshell boxes are available to provide long-term protection for repaired and rebound books. Enclosures are constructed using archival materials and fitted precisely to each volume.
